Good girl gone bad: Katy Perry plays a flapper girl Snow White as well as a va-va-voom Evil Queen for ghd.
Looks like Katy Perry is having a roaring good time as the face of ghd.
After rewinding to the '50s, '70s, and '80s for her first "Iconic Eras of Style" campaign, the pop star is reuniting with fashion photographer David LaChapelle for a sexy 1920s-inspired shoot with a fairytale twist.
Perry transforms into a flapper girl version of Snow White for the hair styling brand's Holiday 2011 Scarlet Collection, which was "inspired by the revelry and glamour of the roaring '20s" and features an art deco aesthetic.
The singer swaps her pink pinup hair for a thick, dark finger-waved bob for the playful shoot, while a fringed peach-hued flapper dress (from John Galliano, no less), feather boa, and layers of chain necklaces complete the retro look.
And while the fire escape she's perched on doesn't exactly scream "Disney," the blue songbirds surrounding her definitely do. Although, would it have killed them to have added a dwarf or seven?
Continuing the fairytale theme, Perry also channels a vampy version of the Evil Queen, more Velma Kelly than past-her-prime monarch. Clutching a poisoned red apple as the Chrysler Building looms in the background, she cuts a sexy yet sinister figure in thigh-high stockings, a curve-hugging, slit-up-to-there black gown, killer heels, and a sleek black bob.
Now comes the tough question: Who's the fairest of them all?
