Katy Perry’s Mother Hates Her Wardrobe
She’s never been one to play it safe in the fashion arena, but Katy Perry’s out-there ensembles have earned her one major critic: her mom.
Mary Perry Hudson, who raised her daughter as an Evangelical Christian like herself and her husband, is reportedly shopping a memoir about how the star’s “risqué” outfits and sometimes-scandalous lyrics have affected her.
Page Six has obtained the book proposal, which reads: “Katy stepped out from behind the changing doors in a tiny risqué costume. No mother wants to see the top of her daughter’s boobs ... My first instinct was to order her back behind those doors and demand she put something else on ... However, I had no problem letting my eyebrows say what I wouldn’t allow my mouth to utter.”
The proposal maintains that the memoir is “not Christian proselytizing or a Katy Perry tell-all,” though it is meant for fans of the singer and her husband, Russell Brand, to “get a glimpse of their stars through Mary’s eyes.”
