Karlie Kloss could literally be bald and still look beyond stunning.

Not quite bald, the model goes for a bombshell bob instead.

For the January issue of Vogue, Kloss chops off nearly seven inches of her long chestnut locks for a short swingy style.

The 20-year-old has had quite the year, quickly skyrocketing to fashion icon status. “It’s been a year of big change for me...Now feels like a good time for a fresh start,” Kloss told Vogue.

“I’ve been so happy/nervous/terrified for this moment,” Kloss told Vogue. “I haven’t had short hair since the second grade,” she says. “It was a bob with bangs—and let me tell you, that was not a fabulous cut.”

From models on the Spring 2013 runways to front row fixtures and Hollywood style icons, the just-shorn style has taken the fashion and beauty industries by storm, quickly becoming the hairstyle of the moment.

Olivier Theyskens sent girls with short jaw-length cuts down the Theyskens’ Theory Spring '13 runway. “Short hair brings something different to the silhouette—a freedom of movement, shape to the shoulders...the girls looked stronger, less romantic, more in control of their choices and their attitudes,” the designer told Vogue.
