Kate Moss: ‘I Love’ Kate Middleton
Looks like the world is big enough for two "Queen Kates."
In Paris to help launch Mango's Fall 2011 fashion collection—which saw her and photographer Terry Richardson playing robbers—Kate Moss spilled to the Telegraph U.K. about her fondness for that other Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge.
"Oh I love her," the supermodel told the newspaper. "She was so chic and seamless. And just beautiful, it was just as a royal wedding should be. [I watched it] in the country, with loads of friends and kids who were all crying. There were tears. We were like, 'OK, you can marry Harry!'"
If only. Moss, who is planning to tie the knot with rocker Jamie Hince this summer, also dismissed the idea of being viewed as a style icon.
"No," she says. "Liz Taylor's an icon. I'm just normal."
The 37-year-old Dior Addict lipstick campaign star—who wisely names her mouth as her best feature—also takes a relaxed view on her ambitions.
When asked to name a goal she hasn't accomplished, the Longchamp collaborator says, "Well, I wasn't in [George Michael's] 'Freedom' video … I just missed it. That would have been amazing."
Indeed. And while the Louis Vuitton catwalker has nothing but love for the royals, she's not quite ready to take a title of her own.
"Can you imagine," she jokes. "I'm too young to be made a dame. A dame's for old women. Like Margaret Thatcher. I'd prefer to be a baroness. I'd quite like to be Lady Kate. But I'm happy just as I am."
Let's hope Dame Vivienne Westwood doesn't hear that!
In other Moss news, the bride-to-be was spied by Sunday Times Style cooing, "I'm getting married!" as she lunched with Yves Saint Laurent's Stefano Pilati in Paris on May 17. Could he be designing her wedding dress? Discuss!
