'Glamour' Girl: Taylor Swift on John Mayer, Emma Stone, and Apple Pie

It wouldn't be an interview with the country crooner without dishing on relationships.

Swift's musical bread and butter has been transforming personal heartache into mega-hit singles (see her entire song catalogue for reference), so will we be downloading any new tunes based on her boyfriend Conor Kennedy?

The CoverGirl face is pretty tight-lipped on that end, telling interviewer ABC's Cynthia McFadden, "I don’t talk about my personal life in great detail. I write about it in my songs, and I feel like you can share enough about your life in your music to let people know what you're going through."

Sort of?

She stays mum on speculation that "Dear John" is a missive to John Mayer and instead gushes about her close friends, you know, Emma and Selena. As in Emma Stone and Selena Gomez.

"I met Emma when I was 17, and I met Selena when I was 18. So they've experienced all of this with me, and they've also experienced their own amazing success, and somehow through all of it, we've stayed close," she says.

And she knows what you think of her, and she will have you know that her outlook is not all hugs and puppies, all the time.

"I think some people think it's just apple pie and sunshine and sprinkles and ponies. Which is just funny. But I never feel the need to go out and make some grand statement that I'm dark and twisty and complicated, because I'm not that either. It's just not as simple as ponies and rainbows, though I do love ponies and rainbows."

Who doesn't?

The singer travels in style for the Ellen von Unwerth-lensed shoot. Cozy sweatpants and boots for the road? Not on her watch.

The fragrance entrepreneur wears a Marc Jacobs top and skirt and L'Wren Scott gloves while juggling her luggage and an Erin by Erin Fetherston dress and Mark Cross satchel before heading on to her next stop.
