Marc Jacobs Spring 2013 RTW

Launch Slideshow

SHOW: Marc Jacobs, Spring 2013

THEME: Edie Sedgwick

HAIR: Redken

ACCESSORIES: Boxy purses and pointy toe flats

OVERALL TAKEAWAY: Back in 2008, Interview Magazine featured Marc Jacobs on their cover dressed up as Andy Warhol; and though he claimed to feel "weird" about the comparison back then, today the designer channeled Warhol full throttle.

Appearing out of revolving mirrored doors, Jacobs sent out models clad in '60s-inspired Edie Sedgwick looks made up of black-and-white pinstripes, ruffled blouses, and shifty mod dresses.

But Jacobs isn't one to "copy" — though the models' hair and makeup was strikingly similar to Edie's right down to the emphasized eyebrows and played up eyeliner — instead he redefines, and this retro girl has a whole new look. Iconic minis were taken down to floor-length in sequins and leathers, while Mickey Mouse crop tops caught the eye of every editor in tow (get ready to see those suckers in every Tommy Ton photo next season).

And even though we've seen the monochromatic pinstripe all over the place this Fashion Week, a trend never really feels solidified until Marc Jacobs sends it down his style defining runway.
