Madonna’s Truth or Dare Fragrance - First Look
Say what you want about Madonna, but the lady sure is loyal to names.
There's the Material Girl's, um, Material Girl juniors line. Now comes word that her new Coty fragrance will share a name with her just-announced secondary clothing line (and a certain racy documentary): Truth or Dare.
Due out in April 2012, the scent marks Madge's first foray into fragrance. Like Material Girl, it will be sold exclusively at Macy's.
"I have always been obsessed by fragrance and for years wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me but that other people could relate to as well," the singer tells Women's Wear Daily. "Something honest, and yet daring, hence the name Truth or Dare.”
“Madonna is the marquis addition to Coty’s unrivaled brand portfolio and further establishes us as cutting edge leaders in the global beauty industry,” adds Bernd Beetz, CEO of Coty Inc., which also works with stars like Heidi Klum and Halle Berry.
“We are thrilled to embark on this new venture with Madonna, a global icon with unprecedented star power and cultural relevance.”
Madonna will reunite with Fabien Baron (of her iconic Sex book fame) for the fragrance's print, TV, and digital campaign. Does that mean clothing is optional?
In the meantime, we've got a sneak peek at the scent itself, which is described as a "unique blend of narcotic florals, balanced with addictive woods and vanilla" and comes presented in a sleek white bottle with a gold studded cap and simple gold lettering.
(In true Madonna form, there looks to be a Cross—or very suggestive "T"—above the "M" ... Just Like a Prayer, anyone?)
Available in a shower gel, body lotion, and eau de parfum, the scent will range in price from $24 to $68.
Now, the question is: Do you dare try it?
Truth: We definitely will!
