A match made in (handbag) heaven: Moise Naolo and Santina Bowers tie the knot at Macy's
A New York City police officer married the California tourist he met at Macy's Herald Square in 2009 in the retailer's handbag department on March 27.
The couple was surrounded by 100 friends and relatives, thousands of flowers, which were part of the store's annual flower show, and some amazing satchels.
Moise Naolo and Santina Bowers first met while they were both admiring the same floral display in front of the store. Naolo struck up a conversation, the two exchanged phone numbers, which resulted in a long-distance relationship.
A year later the couple went back to the Macy's Flower Show, where point Naolo popped the question. He worked with Macy's visual department to post a sign in the store window that read “Santina, will you marry me?”
As soon as they reached the display the groom-to-be got down on one knee and Santina said yes.
Shortly after, the bride moved to New York.
“Upon hearing of the engagement, and the amazing details of how this couple met, it was only natural for Macy’s to make a proposal of our own and close the loop on this unique love story”, says Robin Hall, Executive Producer of Macy’s Flower Show.
Macy's offered to host a wedding at its NYC flagship store during the 37th Macy's Flower Show and also provided a wedding dress from the store's bridal salon, a Martha Stewart Weddings cake, Excellent Polish Jewelry, and Dior Cosmetics.
Congrats to the happy couple on the blooming affair.
