Since Jenna Lyons took the reins at J. Crew, the retail giant has become more than just a staple, but a style.
Along with the establishment of J.Crew's signature eclectic-chic look, the brand has slowly become more and more high-end.
Lyons has been slowly integrated higher price points, dabbling with a Manolo Blahnik shoe collaboration that never actually came to fruition.
After several seasons of showing at New York Fashion Week, the latest evidence of luxury is the launch of a $1500 purse earlier this month.
This expensive new accessory is certainly another step toward a more luxe image. The bag is an alligator version of their signature Edie purse, a small boxy handbag with a long, thin strap that has a classic, elegant appeal.
The alligator bag is currently being sold exclusively at J. Crew's Madison Avenue location in New York City, and according to J.Crew's Tumblr page, there were just nine alligator bags made.
