Bettina's Take: Bergdorf Goodman Celebrates Its 111th Anniversary

Bergdorf Goodman turned 111 on October 18th, and what a good looking place it is.
This temple of elegance has renewed itself time and again, remaining the go to place for designs by the greats. Mayor Michael Bloomberg declared October 18th "Bergdorf Goodman Day", and a huge party was given in the ballroom of the Plaza Hotel to celebrate.
Several hundred of Bergdorf's nearest and dearest came to pay tribute, some dressed in black tie, others, not so much.
There were tuxedos, hats and gowns, fashion do's and don'ts, designers, models, industry people and party people. Linda Fargo looked stunning as always, graciously greeting the likes of Zac Posen, Carolina Herrera, Roberto Cavalli, Michael Kors and Olivier Theyskens. The brilliant Bronson Van Wyck did the decor. The dance floor was packed, making it hard to see the menagerie of animals and mannequins scattered about under the floating clouds.

There wasn't much talking, but there was a lot of see and be seen, air kissing, you look fabulous - thanks to Bergdorf's.
