Eddie Borgo Casts Giovanna Battaglia in Spring Ads
Who needs models when you have the fashion industry at your feet?
CFDA-nominated jewelry designer Eddie Borgo has cast Vogue Gioiello fashion director and street-style star Giovanna Battaglia in his Spring 2011 campaign, Vogue reports.
And it’s not the first time Borgo has recruited from within the fashion magazine ranks; past campaigns have featured Elle’s Kate Lanphear and Vogue contributing editor Lauren Santo Domingo.
Fashion royal Julia Restoin Roitfeld art-directed the striking black-and-white shoot, which features pieces inspired by fetish iconography.
“Giovanna was very much in my head when I was designing the Spring collection,” Borgo told Vogue. “She loves jewelry and is not afraid to pile it on. She also, in her own way, is an example of high-end meets street.”
