New York City Ballet 2012 Spring Gala Brings out Natalie Portman, Drew Barrymore
Big names—designers and their fashionable clientele alike—ushered in the New York City Ballet Spring 2012 season with a gala co-hosted by the ultimate Black Swan to date, Natalie Portman, plus a few other well-dressed mainstays.
Drew Barrymore and her fiance, Will Kopelman, made a stylish appearance: he in a dapper tuxedo, she in a white Chanel gown with a classic black evening jacket, and presumably, a glitzy rock to celebrate their impending big day. A pale pink clutch added a subtle girly touch to her classy ensemble.

Carolyn Murphy in J. Mendel and Natalie Portman in Dior
The Miss Dior Cherie spokeswoman wore—what else?—a navy Christian Dior halter gown with a tiered skirt and ribbon detailing, on the arm of her own ballet beau, Benjamin Millepied. Estée Lauder model Carolyn Murphy attended in a pale J. Mendel strapless gown, delicately accentuated with black strappy heels.

Rodarte Designers, Kate and Laura Mulleavy, and Tabitha Simmons with Grace Coddington
Rodarte's Mulleavy sisters, Kate and Laura, were on hand to see their creations take the stage (alas, George Lucas was nowhere in sight). Shoe designer Tabitha Simmons posed with Vogue's Grace Coddington (and erstwhile model), in an ornately embroidered coat with milkmaid braids (someone was paying attention at Dolce & Gabbana), while Coddington's flame-colored tresses served, as always, as her best accessory.
