Coachella Fashion Party Roundup

Is it a music festival or a fashion fest? The stars flocked to Coachella this past weekend for sunny skies and tunes from the likes of Kanye West, the National, Lauryn Hill, and the Kills, but style was certainly a significant part of the fun as well.

The April 15 opening night was celebrated with an AllSaints-hosted bash in honor of Kings of Leon's first-day set. On the guest list? Kate Bosworth, Phillip Lim (who threw his own Coachella bash with Kanon Organic Vodka at Joan Collins's Palm Springs digs), Kelly Osbourne, Lily Aldridge (the Victoria's Secret model is engaged to Kings of Leon singer Caleb Followill), Aziz Ansari, Tali Lennox, and Sky Ferreira, who partied among waterfalls and a fire pit before getting a "Happy Birthday" serenade in to Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney.

The next afternoon, British brand Mulberry (no strangers to the music festival scene—creative director Emma Hill is a lifelong Glastonbury-goer) threw a pool party at the Gene Autry House at the Parker Hotel for one part Fall '11-collection-viewing, one part fête.

Teen Vogue’s Andrew Bevan and Karlsson and Winnberg of Miike Snow helmed the turntables while Mulberry-toting stars Nicole Richie, Camilla Belle, Gia Coppola, sisters Nathalie and Laura Love—who carried a green Heritage Bayswater, midnight Mini Carter, midnight Carter Camera bag, and red and white Lily bags, respectively—and Alexa Chung enjoyed sliders and fries with berry mojitos.

Adidas and Kanon Organic Vodka hosted a party in Jeremy Scott's honor at Elvis Presley's house, where Rosario Dawson, Kirsten Dunst, Solange Knowles, and model Anouk Lepere celebrated the designer and danced to tunes spun by singer Robyn and DJ Pedro Winter.

Of course, not all the action was at the parties. Rihanna, Diane Kruger, Dita Von Teese (in a tropical Dior ensemble), Katy Perry, Alessandra Ambrosio, Emma Roberts, Chanel Iman, Ashley Greene, and plenty of other A-listers made the trip to Indio, Calif., for the festival, where the temperatures approached 100 degrees but the chic stars didn't break a sweat.

Our best-dressed pick? The competition was fierce this year, and though cutoff shorts and floaty tops are de rigueur, at least one stylish star pulled out all the stops: Kanye, who performed in an unbuttoned-to-there colorblock shirt from Phoebe Philo’s Spring 2011 Céline collection.

A women’s blouse, sure—but who could wear it better?
