Supermodels Rock Out for Harper's Bazaar U.K.
Admit it: You've been waiting for this moment ever since George Michael's "Freedom '90."
Proving good things come to those who wait, Harper's Bazaar U.K. has rounded up Yasmin Le Bon, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, and Helena Christensen for its red-hot December cover and a 22-page fashion spread devoted to their star turn in Duran Duran's new "Girl Panic!" video.
Rocking sexy black corsets and blazers for the cover, the iconic supermodels portray Duran Duran for the Jonas Akerlund-shot film, while the band members themselves play bell hops, chauffeurs, and paparazzi.
With glittering jewels from Swarovski Elements and designs from guest fashion editors Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana to help get them into character (love "lead singer" Naomi's red suit!), the ladies bring new meaning to the phrase "supergroup."
"We have made some pretty ambitious videos over the years, but this one was certainly the most challenging to date," says Simon Le Bon, who is married to Yasmin.
"Coordinating the schedules of five of the world’s biggest super models [sic], Jonas, and the band was no easy task–but we couldn’t be happier with the finished film. It has all of the ingredients that we feel are important–it’s humorous, glamorous, sexy, and very Duran Duran.”
The finished film will be revealed on November 7 at the Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year Awards, where Duran Duran will present their supermodel pals with the Fashion Icons of the Year Award.
Talk about girls on film!
