Duran Duran Video to Star Supermodels Including Naomi Campbell
"Girls on Film"? You ain't seen nothing yet.
Taking a cue from George Michael's iconic, supermodel-heavy "Freedom! '90," Duran Duran has tapped Naomi Campbell to lead the boldface catwalking cast of their latest music video, Grazia U.K. reports.
Not surprisingly, sources say the band turned to Simon Le Bon's model wife Yasmin to recruit her famous friends for the shoot, which will take place in the South of France during the last week of May.
"It’s all very exciting, all the girls back together again," a source tells the magazine. "Yasmin’s spent weeks recruiting her model friends, and she and Naomi were discussing it and getting excited about it when they were in Cannes for Naomi’s Fashion for Relief show."
And while Kate Moss recently lamented the fact that she missed out on joining the likes of Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, and Linda Evangelista in the "Freedom" shoot, sources speculate that she'll be getting a second chance with a cameo in the Duran Duran video.
Along with Yasmin, Le Bon's model daughter Amber should be a shoo-in for the gig. But for the sake of nostalgia, we've got our fingers crossed that Linda, Claudia, Cindy, Christy, Tatjana, and Stephanie are packing their bags and practicing their best Tawny Kitaen moves.
