Marilyn strikes again!
After scoring a biopic starring Michelle Williams, influencing several magazine covers, and even starring in a Dior campaign, the iconic blonde is set to be honored with an exhibit at the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo in Florence, Italy.
Running June 2012 through January 2013, the exhibit will showcase the 14 pairs of Ferragamo heels designed specially for Monroe, which the label purchased at auction in 1999.
Of special note is a red Swarovski crystal pump once worn by the actress, who donned a white crystal version in the 1960 film Let's Make Love.
"Through his shoes, Salvatore Ferragamo contributed to the legend Marilyn would become: they accentuated the innate and intense sensuality of the woman whom Salvatore likened to Venus, the Greek goddess of beauty," a press statement reads.
Outfits and artworks depicting Monroe, who was recently the subject of a New York City photo exhibit, will also be on display.
Hmm. Maybe Megan Fox should just keep her Marilyn tattoo and charge admission?
