Guess Holiday 2011

Never let it be said that fashion girls don't eat. Because everyone was chowing down on tacos at the Guess and Guess by Marciano holiday preview last night, at the Mondrian Soho's penthouse roof terrace.

Fish tacos, wine, and looking at clothes with Manhattan as a backdrop? Don't mind if I do.

The setting was a bit strange when it came to looking at coats—the city, like much of the country right now—is sweltering. But the lighter dresses (for your holiday fêtes) were easier to take in while sweating.

White by Vera Wang David’s Bridal

There’s no time to splurge like your wedding day, particularly on the dress you’ll remember (hopefully fondly) for the rest of your life. But White by Vera Wang, the designer’s collection for David’s Bridal, is so good and so well priced that you’ll feel like you’re cheating at the game.

Clearly, Wang knows bridal (She might even have a little something to do with a certain Kardashian’s upcoming gown), and there are dresses in her White collection that are virtually indistinguishable from her signature bridal collection—price tag notwithstanding, naturally. The most expensive gowns in White top out at $1,200, for ones with voluminous tulle skirts, intricate embroidery and lace. A sleeker corset-topped dress with net overlay was simple and chic—and will only set you back $600.

Ferragamo Resort 2012

What, you thought Resort was over? Oh, no, not quite yet. The in-between seasons seem to always trickle and last for weeks, and just when you think you’ve seen the last show, another invite comes along.

But yesterday’s Ferragamo extravaganza (and that’s precisely what it was) left no doubt of the importance of the season. Held at the James B. Duke mansion in New York, the show pulled in big name models (Mariacarla! Karolina! Karlie Kloss and her eerie walk!) for a multi-room runway saunter.
