Marchesa handbag

If you’ve ever seen a Marchesa gown (and if you’ve ever seen a red carpet, you’ve seen a Marchesa gown), you know that that an everyday shoulder bag is just not going to cut it on the accessories front. Luckily, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig have you covered.

The brand’s line of handbags is every bit as elaborate as its heavily-beaded and embroidered gowns—they’re just smaller. One python bag has flower appliques; a shiny croc clutch has a beaded tassel. There are feathers and crystals and lizard and one gorgeous smoky blue enamel clutch with scalloped crystal trim—perfect for that roaring ‘20s vibe we’re all feeling for spring.

Fashion Week is upon us. And lest you think it’s all fashion shows and parties (that’s only 99 percent of it), there’s also a philanthropic side to the week. Nine West is kicking off its Runway to Relief program this morning to help fight breast cancer.

Yours truly is celebrating this by having breakfast with photographer Nigel Barker—I’m part of the blogger team that’s not only wearing the Nine West Runway to Relief gear this week, but I’ll be tweeting and retweeting to raise funds, as well as having my photo taken by the Americas Next Top Model judge. Don’t be jealous: New Yorkers can get their photos taken by Barker at the Rockefeller Center Nine West tonight for Fashion’s Night Out, and be styled by Leslie Fremar.

 Tiffany & Co. brunch

Today, readers, I did something that nearly every woman has wanted to do: I had breakfast at Tiffany’s. I’m not talking having a coffee and bagel outside. Oh no, actual breakfast at Tiffany’s. Please feel free to jump in glee along with me.

The jewelry brand—or, as I like to call it, the happiest place in the world—held a breakfast in honor of its new Fall 2011 leather collection. The designers behind the line, Richard Lambertson and John Truex, were on hand. Truthfully? It was probably the best start to a day I've had in quite a while. Not only did I get to ogle sumptuous bags and chat up the lovely duo about everything from True Blood (verdict: Eric Northman needs to stay away from witches) and yesterday’s crazy earthquake, but we chowed down on delicious food. Lobster egg tart and blueberry silver dollar pancakes? There went my pre-fashion week diet.
