Fact: There’s no way faster to a girl’s heart than through the right shoes, and in the 10 years since he started his line, Brian Atwood has figured out exactly how to pull those heartstrings.

For holiday, I stopped in my tracks (my own black strappy wedges seeming all of a sudden entirely inadequate) when I saw the array of bright patent pumps in shades so highlighter-bright I almost pulled out my shades. Super glossy and unadorned (those maribou feathers and flowers playing tricks on your eyes were just in the background), they are the epitome of a statement shoe.

Chaiken and Capone Fall 2011

Remember Chaiken? Though it launched back in 1994 by Julie Chaiken, the line has fallen off the radar in the last few years—until now.

The brand is still helmed by Julie—and it’s still famous for its practically perfect pants—but the name has gotten a bit of a revamp: Following a brief hiatus (and a stint as a two-woman label with Pamela Capone, who's no longer involved in the company) it’s now Chaiken and Capone, and it’s coming to a Barneys near you very soon. With relatively conservative silhouettes—think great trousers and work-appropriate sheath dresses—it’s the fits and the textures that make these pieces stand out.

Chanel Fine Jewelry

You know what would really help me get through this ridiculously hot day (other than more iced coffee)? Jewelry. Chanel fine jewelry, to be more precise. The fashion brand held its jewelry holiday preview today which really just gave me an excuse to ogle baubles.
