Imagine the stress of prom night, compounded with the following factors: you have to design your own dress. Your date is a model. Oh, and at evening's end, you'll be meeting the Queen of England.
This should give you some idea of how the British designers attending last night's A Celebration of the Arts event at the Royal Academy of Art must have felt upon arrival.
Grazia reports that the event, part of the festivities leading up to the Queen's Jubilee, drew Vivienne Westwood (with Lily Cole in a dark blue strapless evening gown), Henry Holland and Agyness Deyn (also in long dark blue, but with Holland-esque blue metallic embellishments) and Christopher Kane and Caroline Sieber, the latter in an embellished white tank and skirt.
Matthew Williamson brought Valentine Filliol Cordier as his date, while Jasper Conran escorted Jasmine Guinness. And Giles Deacon's guest remains a mystery - she sported a swan headpiece that rendered her basically unrecognizable. Also on the guest list: Sarah Burton, Philip Treacy, Tracy Emin and Amanda Wakeley.
