Kate Middleton Wears Matthew Williamson

A year ago, Matthew Williamson revealed that he was less than enamored of Kate Middleton’s style—but it looks like the Duchess is still a fan of Williamson’s.

"Kate isn't a fashion bunny," he told the Telegraph last March. "I don't know why everyone in fashion is waiting to see what she wears. I'm, like, thinking: get over it." (In his defense, Williamson was quoted at the height of royal wedding dress speculation mania—and he wasn’t the only one a little burned out on the endless dishing.)

And something tells us the designer is pleased all the same that the Duchess wore his design to last night’s U.K. premiere of Disney’s African Cats in London. Middleton chose a pale gray peplum sheath dress with turquoise beading at the sleeves and neck. (The blog What Kate Wore points out that the embellishment at the collar might be a custom job, as it wasn’t in the original pre-fall 2012 collection.)

Kate finished the look with dark gray pumps and a matching clutch—and her signature enviably shiny ‘do.

So we're all friends again, then?
