Nothing like an awards show to kick off New York Fashion Week, eh?
New York's SVA Theater played host to the 3rd Annual Fashion 2.0 Awards on February 8, where the style world's most tech-savvy figures were honored.
Presented by Style Coalition, the livestreamed (of course) event was hosted by new HSN designer Robert Verdi and featured a keynote speech from Norma Kamali.
PR maven Aliza Licht proved lucky for DKNY, who took home trophies for Best Twitter and Best Blog by a Fashion Brand thanks to her smart-as-a-whip DKNY PR Girl alter ego.
Bergdorf Goodman scored some social media street cred with its win for Best Facebook, while Marc Jacobs was named Best Website and Tiffany & Co.'s Engagement Ring Finder won Best Mobile App.
Instagram was named the Next Big Thing in Tech, and Prada's foot-tapping Spring 2011 video campaign earned it Best Online Video.
The night's biggest winners, however, were Innovator of the Year Kate Spade as well as Gilt Groupe co-founders Alexis Maybank and Alexandra Wilkis Wilson, who won the prestigious Fashion 2.0 Visionary Award.
“The breadth of this year’s nominees and winners shows the importance fashion brands have placed on the medium,” Style Coalition founder and CEO Yuli Ziv says in a press statement.
“It’s so exciting and gratifying for the brands that their fans voted and recognized their efforts in connecting with them via various social channels. The Awards capture the spirit of social media and the ceremony brought together all of the talented people who are driving the innovation.”
Agreed. Congrats to all the night's winners!
