Hailee Steinfeld - Miu Miu’s New Face
Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld is going from True Grit to true It! The teen star has just been tapped as the face of Miu Miu’s upcoming campaign, the Daily Beast confirms.
The news might not come as a surprise to fashion insiders. Steinfeld has long been a fan of Miuccia Prada’s younger line. At the Miu Miu Fall/Winter 2011 presentation in Paris—where she sat front row and was mobbed by magazine editors—the budding style icon wore a blush silk long-sleeve dress with an ivory volant collar, black multi-strap leather pumps, and a leopard-print clutch, all from the label.
One month earlier, she donned a Miu Miu black ricamo duchesse dress with a cristalli embroidered bodice and peplum waist at the BAFTA Awards in London, and a Spring/Summer 2011 collection black, white and green swan-print raso silk long-sleeve dress with a navy leather belt at the Berlinale Film Festival in Berlin.
“A good dress opens many doors,” Steinfeld’s stylist, Kara Welch told the Daily Beast.
Indeed, Steinfeld now joins the ranks of celebrities like Kirsten Dunst, Katie Holmes, Chloe Sevigny, and Maggie Gyllenhaal, who have all fronted campaigns for Miu Miu.
Not bad for someone whose biggest screen role saw her dressed in a man’s coat and pants.
