Royal Wedding flags designed by Manolo Blahnik (left) and Henry Holland (right)
Kate Middleton might wear $179 Dune strappy sandals when she walks down the aisle, but that hasn't stopped Manolo Blahnik from getting in on the royal wedding action.
Grazia U.K. has tapped the footwear genius and nine other top designers to create a series of royal wedding flags, which will be given away by the magazine to lucky readers who text in their favorite design. (Proceeds from texting rates benefit Save the Children, though, alas, only U.K. residents may enter.)
While Blahnik's design features (not surprisingly) pink and blue heels and a note wishing the happy couple well, Henry Holland offers a cheekier take with his graphic camp "I Don't Have to Marry a Prince to Be a Queen" slogan.
The festive decorations also reference the Union Jack, with Ashish adding yellow fringed trim and newspaper cutouts; Pringle's Alistair Carr going the red, white and blue argyle route; Boutique by Jaeger's Stuart Stockdale throwing in some hearts; and Katie Hillier sketching crown-wearing kissing bunnies in the foreground.
The original designs—which also include contributions from Anya Hindmarch, Lulu Guinness, Julian J. Smith, and Basso & Brooke—will also be auctioned off for charity in the next two weeks.
Guess we'll need a white flag too—we've completely surrendered to royal wedding mania!
