Green giant: Nicki Minaj wigs out for her Paper cover shoot.

Nicki Minaj has landed the cover of Paper's Spring Fashion Issue (out February 20), and can we just say that we're kinda loving the green Oompa Loompa hair?

Last seen hitting the stage for Madonna's Super Bowl halftime performance, the hip-hop star also rocks a candy pink wig, neon hues, and what looks to be her MAC Pink Friday lipstick for her shoot with photographer Howard Huang, but adopts a more, erm, casual look for her phone chat with Simon Doonan.

Minaj admits to wearing "just a pink t-shirt and a pink thong" during her interview, but that doesn't mean she's a slouch in the fashion department. Just take her reaction to sitting next to Anna Wintour at Carolina Herrera's Spring 2012 show.

"I was screaming out loud inside my head," she says of the experience.

"Me sitting next to the Queen of Vogue! It was such a strange experience. I felt like I was dreaming. And I thought she would be snobby or something. But she was so incredibly sweet to me."

When it comes to her own style, however, the Mob Wives fan has a much more eclectic group of influences.

"Grace Jones definitely," she tells Doonan.

"So amazing. And Cyndi Lauper, I loved her right from when I was a little girl. And Janet Jackson of course. And Boy George. I always loved the way he dressed, and his music too."

Ah, a girl after our own heart.
