Kirsten Dunst Covers Elle U.K., Talks ‘Snaggle Fangs’
Elle U.K. is relying on a little flower power—and a lot of Kirsten Dunst—for its major September issue.
Sporting a platinum blonde bob and what makeup artist Pati Dubroff describes as a "soft and pretty" face, the recent Bulgari campaign star looks ultra-romantic on the lilac-tinted cover as she clutches some gorgeous peonies.
And though the Band of Outsiders fan is currently loved up with musician Jason Boesel—"we have similar schedules: long periods of time off and periods of mad work. When I’ve finished work, I travel to be with him. It’s special," she says of her boyfriend—Dunst says her love life hasn't always been picture-perfect.
"We all want the bad guy who doesn't give you what you want," she says, referring to ex Johnny Borrell. "I did a lot of sitting in my car, listening to sad music, crying over boys."
Photographed by lensman David Slijper, the blonde beauty—who will soon be back on the big screen in On the Road and Melancholia—stars in an accompanying fashion spread that sees her looking as ethereal as ever in a Stella McCartney blazer worn over a sheer white polka-dot dress.
Modeling designs from the likes of Junya Watanabe, the actress also opens up about making peace with her age ... and her teeth.
"I’m 29," she tells the magazine. "I keep thinking, ‘Stop with the cutesy dresses.’ I’m trying to, I honestly am. I have things in my wardrobe that are too girly for my age. But I like simple, feminine, casual. I don’t like overdone.”
“I love my snaggle fangs," adds Dunst. "They give me character and character is sexy. People comment, but the only person who ever told me to fix them was my mom ... I just went my own way, like daughters do.”
