Vidal Sassoon Memorial: Michael Caine, John Frieda Pay Tribute
Celebrity hairstylists came out to celebrate one of their own yesterday, paying tribute to the late Vidal Sassoon with a memorial service at London's historic St. Paul Cathedral, the Daily Mail reports.
Sir Michael Caine, Jeremy Irons, British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman, designers Mary Quant and Zandra Rhodes, and hairdressers John Frieda, James Brown, and Nicky Clarke were among those paying tribute to the London-born hairstyling icon, who passed away in May at the age of 84 after a fight with leukemia.

"[It's] a sad day but we get a chance here to celebrate his life," Caine said of Sassoon, who worked with A-list clients like Elizabeth Taylor, Ava Gardner, and Mia Farrow, whom he famously transformed with a pixie cut ahead of her performance in Rosemary's Baby.
"On a personal level he had so much enthusiasm and he was fascinated by everything that was going on and just really an extraordinary man," added Frieda.
"On a professional level I don't think there is anyone in our industry that has achieved what he achieved. He was a man that completely revolutionized the industry in a way no one else ever has. I have a lot of fond memories of him and hairdressers all over the world really were in awe of him."
Here's to the man who told us, "If you don't look good, we don't look good."
Rest in peace.
