Peggy Moffitt Talks Twiggy and Mod Fashion For Nowness
"I think it's a beautiful photograph, but oh, am I tired of talking about it!" Peggy Moffitt says when asked about William Claxton's iconic 1964 photograph of her modeling a Rudi Gernreich "topless swimsuit." The photo in question is on display as part of the Cameron Silver-curated exhibit "The Total Look," currently on view at MOCA's Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles.
While Moffitt may be sick of discussing her influence on '60's fashion, we have to say we can't get enough. In a new video for NOWNESS, the perpetually Mod mannequin (she even kept that to-die-for Vidal Sassoon 'do) talks with the museum's director Jeffrey Deitch about the exhibit and even gives us a tour of her home. Watch her chat about playing Madonna to Twiggy's Baby Jesus, the seven deadly sins and much more in the video above.
