Score one more for colorful evening offerings!

One rack of dresses in Reem Acra’s Fifth Avenue showroom brought me back to my Crayola days—cherry red, bright yellow, emerald green… Who says black tie attire can’t be fun?

Reem Acra hails from Beirut, Lebanon, but—fun fact!—she keeps a home in Nashville, Tennessee, a city that lent her inspiration for the season. And while there’s always plenty of tulle in Acra’s formalwear, resort had a decidedly Southern belle bent, whether in the aforementioned color (in addition to the primary shades, there was also a lovely blush pink and mint green) or in the details, like tiers upon more tiers or floral accents.

tory burch resort

If there’s a brand the resort season was created for, it’s Tory Burch. Not just because the Palm Beach-preppy fare makes one long for a vacation no matter the season, but because there is such incredible demand for the label's new offerings.

And don’t be fooled by her lack of formal runway shows (word has it that may change next season)—the woman runs a veritable empire. Hard to believe it all started with that little Reva flat, no?

theodora and callum

There’s nothing like a good scarf to get you out of a dull outfit slump. A tee and jeans, LBD, even a bikini can be improved with a bright splash of color—a concept Theodora & Callum is clearly on board with.

The accessories brand, helmed by Stefani Greenfield (of Scoop, Launch My Line, and Curations with Stefani Greenfield fame) and Full Picture founder and president (and Project Runway's exec producer) Desiree Gruber, may also offer shoes, bags and jewelry—more on these later—but it’s the scarves that really get shoppers excited. At today’s presentation of the resort collection, the Bryant Park hotel’s Loft suite was literally filled with the scarves, in so many poppy patterns and bright colors it was hard to know where to look first.
