Azzedine Alaïa in Talks to Open Paris Boutique
It just might be time to get your travel agent on the horn ...
Women's Wear Daily is reporting that Azzedine Alaïa is in talks to open a boutique at 5 Rue de Marignan, just around the corner from Christian Louboutin, Chanel, Dior, Prada, Nina Ricci, and Valentino on Paris' chi-chi Avenue Montaigne. Ooh la la!
A representative for the Tunisian-born designer, who currently runs a blink-and-you'll-miss-it boutique near his headquarters in the Marais, declined to comment or confirm the rumors about a retail expansion.

Of course, Alaïa—who sells his garments via retailers like Barneys New York and Net-a-Porter in the U.S.—is renowned for keeping people guessing. The "totally important designer" made a rare runway appearance at the Paris Haute Couture shows last summer, but is not on the 2012 schedule, and generally shuns conventional fashion wisdom.
In other words, don't start packing for that Paris shopping spree just yet. Do, however, keep those fingers crossed.
