Femme fatales: Rihanna, Kelly Osbourne, and Eva Longoria in their Grammy ensembles
You certainly can't accuse the 2011 Grammy Awards of being a no-frills affair.
While most went the rocker route, Rihanna and Kelly Osbourne were among those opting for more romantic looks with their ultrafeminine ruffled dresses.
Fresh off her Reb'l Fleur fragrance commercial, Rihanna channeled Marilyn Monroe with a side-swept bob, berry lips, and white, off-the shoulder Jean Paul Gaultier gown paired with nude Christian Louboutin Pigalle Plato heels and Wilfredo Rosado jewelry.
The form-fitting number—which was worn by "bride" Andrej Pejic at Gaultier's recent haute couture show, making it, yes, a wedding gown—featured racy sheer panels intermixed with rows of downy white frills and a short train that made it one of the night's more formal numbers.
Not to be outdone, Nicole Kidman also turned up in a ruffle-trimmed Gaultier. Her floral-print strapless gown had a frilled, sheer-paneled hem that mimicked Rihanna's train.
Meanwhile, rock heiress Osbourne proved she really is a Material Girl with her ruffled red carpet ensemble. Her lavender one-shoulder Tadashi Shoji cocktail dress boasted a belted-ribbon waistline and gorgeous silk chiffon hand-cut floral frills falling down the shoulder and skirt. Sleek hair, soft pink makeup, Forevermark earrings, and sparkly Alexander McQueen heels helped complete her demure look.
Last but not least, Eva Longoria—wearing a creation from Saudi designer Ashi—framed her petite figure with a halter-neck ring of voluminous jet-black folds that proved a bold contrast to her full white miniskirt.
Guess these girls like to pump up the volume in more ways than one.
