Barneys New York Fashion Director Amanda Brooks Resigns
So long, Madison Avenue—hello, England!
After a year on the job, Amanda Brooks has decided to resign from her post as fashion director of Barneys New York in order to move to England with her family, Women's Wear Daily reports.
"To be the fashion director of a store with such a unique and inspiring vision has always been a dream job,” Brooks tells WWD.
“I have had the pleasure of working with an incredibly talented team but have resigned to temporarily relocate to England with my husband and children in the interest of further pursuing other opportunities. It is a personal decision and I will miss working with the Barneys team.”

Brooks, a regular fixture on the best-dressed lists, joined the luxury retailer in early 2011 after Julie Gilhart's shocking departure. For now, Barneys says it has no immediate plans to name a replacement.
In the meantime, expect plenty of speculation on what these "other opportunities" might be. With a Vogue byline, creative director roles at Tuleh and Hogan, and a guide to personal style already under her belt, Brooks' next move will undoubtedly be an interesting one.
