Lady Gaga Wears Vintage Versace for 'Edge of Glory' Video

The '80s-issue saxophone player, gritty New York City street backdrop, and billowing smoke effects in Lady Gaga's just-released "Edge of Glory" music video aren't the only things that look a little dated.

The pop star hangs up her Mugler in favor of vintage Versace from late designer Gianni Versace's final collection, rocking gold-studded black leather shorts and a matching corset top boasting a plunging neckline and sexy crisscross straps, as she croons her latest single.

Sporting a black and platinum bobbed wig and dramatic slashes of eyeliner, the recent V columnist accessorizes her racy get-up with the label's gold Medusa logo necklace and tall boots with gold buckle details, plus a black, white, and gold silk shirt that she wears in select scenes.

Naturally, the retro ensemble is a hit with a certain other iconic blonde.

"I am greatly honored that Lady Gaga chose to wear a Versace Vintage look throughout her 'Edge of Glory' video," Donatella Versace says in a press statement. "I am a great fan of hers and I believe that my brother Gianni would have appreciated her talent. Like him, Lady Gaga is unafraid to push boundaries and she has created an original vocabulary by merging fashion, music, theater, and art. For me, this video represents a wonderful tribute to anyone who is unafraid to take chances."

Speaking of taking chances, the new video owes a little something to Madonna, Michael Jackson, Billy Idol, The Stray Cats, Janet Jackson, and Miami Sound Machine with its tongue-in-cheek (we think) references to MTV's heyday. Naturally, we love it.
