Karl Lagerfeld Directs Rachel Bilson in Ice Cream Commercial
First it was Diet Coke. Now it's ice cream. Is Karl Lagerfeld trying to ruin our diet?
After designing bottles for his favorite beverage, Lagerfeld is going behind the camera to direct a series of mini films for the upcoming U.S. launch of Magnum ice cream, WWD reports.
Actress Rachel Bilson and Lagerfeld favorite Baptiste Giabiconi (cast as a cranky photographer) will star in the Paris-based commercials, which will comprise three 90-second spots launching April 21.
Bilson—who plays an art student, actress/model, and ballerina ("with the pointe shoes and all, which is very painful," she says)—will also appear in a print campaign débuting in May.
“I love to do advertising, on both sides of the camera,” says Chanel designer Lagerfeld.
