Kylie Jenner Walks Avril Lavigne's Abbey Dawn Spring 2012 Runway
It wouldn’t be Fashion Week without a handful of celebrity sightings, and these days, it wouldn’t be a celebrity sighting without a Kardashian.
While “Sk8er Boi” singer turned Abbey Dawn designer Avril Lavigne may not be part of the family of Ks just yet, her konnection (sorry, we couldn’t help ourselves) to the reality stars—she’s dating the Kardashian sisters’ stepbrother, Brody Jenner, who sat front row—meant that Kim (along with new hubby Kris Humphries), Kourtney, and, of course, Kendall Jenner came out in full force to the Style360 site at the Metropolitan Pavilion.
But it was Kylie Jenner who took center stage: Despite the CFDA’s recent urgings that no model under age 16 walk in shows, the 14-year-old hit the Abbey Dawn Spring 2012 runway.
Garnering as many cheers as designer Lavigne, it seems (to her credit), Jenner didn’t get the memo about models looking surly as they strut; the teen beamed down the catwalk, striking a series of poses for the pit of eagerly awaiting photographers.
The clothes themselves, which are available exclusively at abbeydawn.com, were—as intended—exactly the type of pop-punk looks Lavigne has sported since her debut.
There was shredded denim, faux concert tees, studded leopard print heels, skull print everything, a “Punk You Very Much” dress, and a red checked miniskirt that featured a sparkly black tulle overlay. It’s nothing haute, but tweens who idolize the pop star will eat it up.
