Kylie Jenner to Walk in Avril Lavigne’s Abbey Dawn Fashion Show
Reality stars in the front row at New York Fashion Week have become, well, a reality—but this season, there will be at least one on the runway as well.
Avril Lavigne has recruited Kylie Jenner, the youngest of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, to walk in her Abbey Dawn runway show on Monday, September 12 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City.
For those keeping tabs, Kylie’s stepbrother, Brody Jenner, is Lavigne’s current boyfriend. (Star-trackers, we’re going to go ahead and say that this show’s likely your best bet to catch the famous family in all its photogenic glory.)
Not everyone is so thrilled to have the 14-year-old on the catwalk, however.
The news comes just one week after the CFDA urged all designers to check IDs of the models in their shows, a measure to prevent underage girls from walking.
After releasing guidelines earlier this year stating that those under 16 should not be allowed to participate in Fashion Week, the carding means that the CFDA is getting serious about the matter.
Lavigne’s team disregarding the rules for celebrity’s sake isn’t going to put the star in the good graces of the fashion organization. Then again, the singer-cum-designer isn’t a member of the CFDA, and her joining the esteemed group seems relatively unlikely.
One thing is for sure: the casting choice will certainly bring a few extra cameras to the Abbey Dawn show. See you on E!
