Victoria Horning

Ever wondered what it takes to become a fashion designer?

Over the next few months we'll be following up and coming handbag and shoe designer Victoria Horning as she designs her new collection, builds her brand, and gets her name out there all by herself.

With internships and previous work experience at high-end labels including Alexander Wang, Nina Ricci, and J.Crew to studying shoe design in Italy, Horning certainly has what it takes to make it in the industry. But like any designer with big dreams and even bigger talent, she needs a sufficient amount of funding to launch her business.

The San Francisco native just began her very own Kickstarter campaign in the hopes of raising up to $40,000 to get brand up and running.

"I chose Kickstarter because I thought it would be a great way to interact more directly with my customers and supporters of my work," Horning told us. "I plan to use the money to produce the crocodile clutch in a variety of colors, since it is the most popular bag in my first collection."

Check out the video below, donate here, and stay tuned as we follow Horning as she paves her way to the top of the fashion industry.

Do we spy a spot for Horning in the CFDA's {FASHION INCUBATOR} program?
