4 P.M. Fashion Fix: The Mynabirds' "Generals"
One of our lifelong dreams, which we realize and have accepted will never come to fruition, is to be the lead singer and/or drummer of an all-girl band. It's clear we chose wrong to halfheartedly study the alto sax in middle school band, and sure, our warble might lure vermin from their secretive lairs, but semantics! We can at least dress the part.
The Mynabirds' "Generals" is stirring up some of our latent regrets, but as the Washington, D.C. group shows, Florence Welch-esque bat sleeves, a cropped denim vest, and is that a fox head? might be all we need to plausibly convince otherwise-ignorant folks that we are on tour with our own musical crew, The Dilettantes. Not that we've created the group's logo and itemized our concert riders or anything.
If anything, we'll be off to our local army-navy supplier to stock up on crisp military-inspired silhouettes and button-downs.
The video warrants a watch even without sound, but you would be remiss to not plug in those earphones and give the talented women several listens.
