5 Questions: Cushnie Et Ochs
We got the chance to catch up with Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs of well, you guessed it, Cushnie Et Ochs, last month at Saks Fifth Avenue where the two were already in high-gear Fashion Week mode (Michelle: "I saw it coming; I didn't want to believe it"). They answered our quick 5 questions which we've saved in honor of their Spring 2013 show we're hitting up later this afternoon. Stay tuned.
What's your worst habit?
Carly: I know what you're [Michelle] going to say it is! She always says when I drink a bottle of water, I leave likethismuch in the bottle, and I don't finish it. I don't think it's a terrible habit.
Michelle: Cleaning. It's my best and worst habit: compulsively cleaning.
Top song on your iPod?
Carly: Anything by Little Dragon
Michelle: Lana Del Rey, Born to Die
Describe your style in 5 words or less.
Carly: Black, sleek, easy, sexy, and…I hate that question.
Michelle: I like to say minimalist gangster, add sexy in there. Kind of streamlined, chic.
What's your first style memory?
Carly: Being in my mum's cowboy boots when I was about 3.
Michelle: Wearing my mom's red hat. I always thought she was like the lady in red. I loved putting this red hat on all the time.
Best piece of advice you've ever gotten:
Carly: Trust your instincts. But I was going to go with something else that someone told me at Oscar, basically to strive what you really want to do and not to settle.
Michelle: Carly reiterated it yesterday: just be nice.
