Kate Hudson graces the October issue in a timelessly chic black gown from the Ralph Lauren Collection as well as Harry Winston earrings and a wavy faux bob with a retro appeal.
For the magazine’s subscriber cover, Hudson gets dramatic with an exquisite Armani Privé headpiece. If you think that’s impressive, though , wait ‘til you get an eyeful of the actress’s Camilla Akrans-lensed photo shoot starring couture designs from Valentino, Dior, Gaultier Paris, Givenchy, and Chanel, the latter of which she models while behind the driver’s seat of a convertible.
The bubbly blonde didn’t have to stretch her acting talents to portray a fashionista, opening up her closet for the magazine to reveal her obsession with designer heels from the likes of Brian Atwood and Ferragamo.
"I love heels," she says. "I'm not a big flats person, as you can tell."
And while gowns from Emilio Pucci and Versace rank as her favorite red carpet moments, the Ann Taylor campaign star has a fondness for high street buys too.
“I wore the cutest black dress in the campaign, and I wore their scarf to the airport yesterday, and it was perfect,” she shares, adding that she’d like to launch her own fashion line one day. Should Katie Holmes be worried?
Beauty-wise, the Almay spokesperson swears by lining her eyelids with black liner (including inside the upper lid), and says her body is better than ever after having her youngest son, 18-month-old Bingham, whose father is Muse rocker Matthew Bellamy.
Hudson says she and Bellamy will get married “eventually.”
In the meantime, she’s enjoying their global lifestyle and turning to none other than Gwyneth Paltrow (“she’s the real deal”) for tips on where to go in London.
Oh, how the other half lives …
