Who better than Gisele Bündchen to usher in the Emmanuelle Alt era?

The supermodel kicks off the new Vogue Paris editor-in-chief's reign with an April cover shot that sees the Brazilian beauty flashing a retro-style bra and briefs under a sheer white dress from Dolce & Gabbana's Spring 2011 collection.

Equal measures soft and sultry, Alt's first issue as editor follows the departing Carine Roitfeld's swan song featuring pixie-haired newcomer Saskia de Brauw in ruffles, as well as recent covers devoted to blonde gap-toothed beauties Lara Stone and Daphne Groeneveld.

After three covers starring Dutch-born models, Bündchen—photographed in St. Barts by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin—certainly marks a shift in direction. Still, it's been reported that Alt's full vision for the magazine won't be seen until the August issue, making Bündchen the world's most beautiful palate cleanser.
