Carine Roitfeld's Final Vogue Paris Cover Revealed
Collectors, on your marks: Recently departed French Vogue editor in chief Carine Roitfeld's final issue has been released.
The March issue of Vogue Paris stars Dutch beauty Saskia de Brauw, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, in a pale ruffled gown from Givenchy's Spring 2011 collection. It's a decidedly tame swan song for the editor, who's known for her self-described style of "porno chic." (The magazine's recent 90th-anniversary issue cover shows a topless Lara Stone in nothing but a lace mask, choker, and black leather gloves.)
"I found a new girl called Saskia," Roitfeld teased of her final cover girl in a Style.com interview last week. "She has short hair, [and] no one knows her."
That anonymity surely won't last long.
"Of course, it is a fantastic honor that Carine Roitfeld decided to use me for the cover," de Brauw told New York magazine earlier this week, "and even more so as it is her final issue."
