Richard Chai was recently named the creative director of Filson—an apt appointment for a designer who’s never been the go-to for girly types. And while the actual Filson pieces were shown as part of Chai’s menswear collection, the utilitarian sensibility found its way into the women’s Love collection as well.

Twenty-year-old Shailene Woodley has worn everything from Stella McCartney to Valentino to L’Wren Scott on the recent red carpet circuit, but when FashionEtc caught up with her today in the Honor front row, she insisted she was a fashion newbie. Come again?
