Shailene Woodley On Her Oscars Dress Search and Not Knowing Anything About Fashion

Twenty-year-old Shailene Woodley has worn everything from Stella McCartney to Valentino to L’Wren Scott on the recent red carpet circuit, but when FashionEtc caught up with her today in the Honor front row, she insisted she was a fashion newbie. Come again?

“This is my first fashion show ever,” she told us. “It’s super exciting. I love how [Honor]’s clothes are so—I hate using the word chic, since I really don’t know anything about fashion—but their clothes are so comfortable but still have some structure.”

Comfort is key when it comes to fashion, Woodley said. “I have to be able to breathe, I have to be able to have a food baby, and if I’m going to be sweaty, I need a dress that won’t show my sweat marks,” she laughed.

The Descendants star and her stylist are presumably working with those guidelines to find a dress for her to wear to the Oscars on February 26—Woodley told FashionEtc that she has “a few options” but hasn’t settled on one just yet.

“It will be something obviously that’s comfortable, and something that’s not just your average satin dress,” she divulged.
