Lady Gaga Unveils MAC Viva Glam ‘Masterpiece’ in Short Film
Guess who's starring on Nicola Formichetti's latest creation for Lady Gaga? You!
Well, sort of. After a call for self-portrait submissions from the public, the Mugler designer used select images to create "The Masterpiece," a pinkish-beige bodysuit with a floaty train for MAC's Viva Glam social awareness campaign.
A platinum-haired, glitter-exhaling Gaga models the look (accessorized by what appear to be her signature Noritaka Tatehana heel-less platforms in a matching fabric) for the ethereal new film from Ruth Hogben, which is sure to draw comparisons to the Kate Moss hologram famously created by the late Alexander McQueen. (Which wouldn't be a huge surprise—he is Gaga's "hero," after all.)
The ensemble features a soft, watercolor-esque collage of the various images, while its color is a perfect match for the "universal beige" Viva Glam lipstick created by Gaga and her BFF.
Speaking of which, the pop star has issued a reminder that all the glam is for a good cause: supporting AIDS research.
“The MAC AIDS Fund has raised $224 million to date," she says in a press statement. "Go out and buy a lipstick for your girlfriend, your boyfriend, your mom or your sister—$26 million to go, little monsters!”
You heard the lady!
