Costco Launches Wedding Dress Collection
Shopbop’s not the only one branching into bridal. Massive discount wholesaler Costco has also broken into the wedding business with a new line of dresses by designer Kirstie Kelly.
Just because these gowns will be sold in warehouses alongside off-price electronics and super-size mayonnaise doesn’t mean they’ll go cheap, though: Prices range from $699 to $1,399 (comparable to the prices of Vera Wang’s White by Vera Wang line for David’s Bridal), and sizes will range from 2 to 24.
Special dressing rooms have been built in Costco stores for the bridal pilot program, which will feature a traveling trunk show of six dress styles.
The Kirstie Kelly Signature collection will be available exclusively at Costco; previously, Kelly designed a bridal line for Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings collection, inspired by the Disney princesses.
