Tom Ford's Los Angeles Boutique Opening
“My water could totally break right here,” said a very pregnant Rachel Zoe, celebrating the opening of Tom Ford’s brand-new Los Angeles store Thursday night.
“I mean, everything he does is just flawless,” she told Women’s Wear Daily. “Too bad I can’t wear any of it.”
Zoe, along with Eva Longoria, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Karen Elson, and Ford’s A Single Man star Colin Firth, joined the designer for the Rodeo Drive début of the 9,200-square-foot, two-story boutique, which offers Tom Ford Beauty and Tom Ford Private Blend fragrances in addition to Ford’s menswear and much-lauded new womenswear collection. (Ford’s second womenswear collection was presented last week during London Fashion Week in the same top-secret style as his September New York presentation—nondisclosures and all.)
The womenswear is housed on the second level of the boutique, with three separate salons: one for shoes and handbags, one for evening wear, and one for day wear, including a $4,500 viscose peak-lapel jacket and $1,700 wide-leg pants.
“I’m just so glad he’s back designing womenswear,” said Michelle Monaghan. “When he left Gucci I felt like he broke up with me, I was so sad. He’s like that naughty ex that you’re glad to take back.”
