Agyness Deyn to Play a Stripper in ‘Pusher’
She made her name modeling clothes, but now Agyness Deyn is taking her career to the next level by peeling them off. The blonde Brit has just been cast as a stripper in the upcoming thriller Pusher, according to the Telegraph.
The film, a remake of the 1996 Dutch cult classic, tracks a week in the life of desperate drug dealer Frank. Deyn—whose previous acting experience includes playing Aprhodite in 2010’s Clash of the Titans—will portray a strong-minded stripper in the gritty crime-drama, which will shoot in East London’s Shoreditch neighborhood for a 2012 release. Director Luis Prieto reportedly wasn’t aware of Deyn’s catwalking career when he cast her in the role.
The model—who recently completed the London Marathon—is just the latest of a slew of mannequins who are making the jump to the big screen.
Brooklyn Decker recently appeared alongside Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler in Just Go with It; Victoria’s Secret stunner Rosie Huntington-Whitely makes her acting début in the summer blockbuster Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and Doutzen Kroes has landed her first movie gig, starring in the upcoming Dutch 3-D film Zembla.
