Katy Perry’s Candy-Colored Elle Cover
Someone's definitely got the Ex factor!
Katy Perry's bold cover shoot for the September issue of Elle more than proves that the recently divorced pop star has gotten her groove back. Just take a look at that stick-straight purple-streaked mane, ying-yang nail art, and candy-pink sequined Bottega Veneta dress!
Inside, photographer Carter Smith captures the singer in a more pensive mood as she models printed designs from Etro, Peter Pilotto, and YSL. The sophisticated, grown-up image seems to suit Perry's new outlook as she looks to the future.
“I have no regrets," she says. "I’m not going to be everything to everyone. I can’t tell a person when it’s time for them to have sex. Or if they should have a cigarette. But I try to live my life with a lot of integrity, and, hopefully, that sends a message ... I love what I do, and when I don’t love what I do, I’ll make a change. I can’t be the candy queen forever.”
The purple hair says otherwise, but we'll let it slide. Meanwhile, Perry also touches on the topic of whether she'd consider marriage again after splitting with Russell Brand.
"I obviously have a lot to say right now," she tells the magazine. "I’m a woman who likes to be courted—strongly. Never say never, I guess you’d say. I’ll let love take the lead on that.”
