Brian Reyes Named Head of Design at Calvin Klein Underwear
Brian Reyes is gearing up for his second act.
The onetime New York Fashion Week ready-to-wear favorite has landed a high-profile new role at Calvin Klein Underwear, signing on as vice president and head of global design, Women's Wear Daily reports.
After shuttering his eponymous, celebrity-adored womeswear line after the Resort 2010 season, the designer took a year-long sabbatical, during which he sought inspiration from exotic locales like Patagonia. He also recently served as a creative consultant at Tse Cashmere House.
Now it's back to business as Reyes takes on the long-vacant role of, in his words, "providing long-term creative direction for this quintessential iconic global brand.”

“The underwear category is unique in that it is a fundamental basic but has so much possibility to be intriguing, sexy, and desirable," he tells WWD. "Calvin Klein in particular has such incredible history and brand power."
Meanwhile, Calvin Klein chief creative officer Bob Mazzoli calls Reyes, who has also worked for Michael Kors and Oscar de la Renta, an "exceptional talent who brings tremendous experience and keen awareness of current fashion trends in men’s and women’s design.”
We're just happy to have Reyes back in the fashion fold. Our underwear drawer awaits!
